THE CO-OPERATIVE UNIVERSITY OF KENYA

JANUARY 2018 INTAKE FOR SELF-SPONSORED STUDENTS

The Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK) is a Chartered Public University established by the Government of Kenya under the Universities Act 2012. The main campus of CUK is located in Karen, approximately 20km from Nairobi City Centre, a very conducive environment for serious academic engagement and learning.

The Vision of the University is to be a leading Global University in Training, Research and Innovation for Co-operative Development; whereas the Mission of the university is to provide Innovative Education, Training, Research, and Consultancy services for sustainable community empowerment.

Courses offered in main campus- Karen, Nairobi, Meru and Mombasa campuses

 

Programme Qualification Duration
Master of Co-operative i. Holders of Bachelor degree with First Class Honours OR 4 semesters
Management Second Class Honours, Upper Division in any field from the
Co-  operative  University  of  Kenya  or  a  recognized
Master of Business University.
Administration (MBA) ii. Second Class Lower Division in a relevant field from the
Co-  operative  University  of  Kenya  or  a  recognized
Master Of Community University  with  at  least  two  (2)  years’  experience  in
Development research, administration, management or the public sector,
as  evidenced  by  at  least  one  published  paper  in  a
refereed   journal   or   Technical   reports   and   patent
documents.
iii. Bachelor’s degree with a pass in a relevant field from the
Co-  operative  University  of  Kenya  or  a  recognized
University may be considered for admission if:
(a) he/she  has  at  least  five  (5)  years  of  relevant
experience in research, administration,
management or the public sector or:
(b) has a post-graduate diploma in a relevant field
Bachelor of Co- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a 8 semesters
operative Business Mean Grade of C+ or its equivalent, OR
(BCOB)

Management & Certificate of Education (EACE) “Ordinary Level” Division II
Sustainable or their equivalents, plus a CUK/KNEC Diploma with a credit I
Development pass (mean score of 60%)or their equivalents from an
(BDM) Accredited and Recognized Institution, OR
•The Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE), East African
Bachelor of Certificate of Education (EACE) “Ordinary Level” Division III
Commerce (BCOM) or their equivalents, plus CUK/KNEC Certificate and
CUK/KNEC Diploma with a credit I pass (mean score of 60%)
Bachelor of Science in or their equivalents from an Accredited and Recognized
Finance Institution, OR
•The Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE)
Bachelor of Science in “Advanced Level” with two Principal passes and a subsidiary.
Entrepreneurship •Subject Specific Requirements for direct entrants shall be C
plain in English/Kiswahili and C plain in Mathematics/Group

Application forms can be collected from The Co-operative University of Kenya Main Campus (Karen), Nairobi Campus (Ufundi Co-op Plaza), and Mombasa Campus (Jubilee Arcade), Meru Campus or downloaded from the University website www.cuk.ac.ke . Fully filled forms with payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 500/= for Diploma and Kshs. 1,500 for Degree programmes, and Kshs. 2,000 for Master’s degree programs paid through Bank deposit at any Co-operative Bank of Kenya Account No. 0112962663600 (Karen Branch, Nairobi).
