Egerton University Culture Week, below is the information on the Egerton University Culture Week.

The day was a day like no other right at Egerton University Njoro where every activity at the campus  came to a stand still. This was just to give Friday the 20th day of  march 2015  a full concentration and a blossom celebration like no man’s business. This was the culture week traditional wear day as well as the day for crowning the winners from the various distinctions from Monday till the final day Friday. Comrades came out in their numbers  with their most unique and crazy wears, with everyone fighting to be  the outstanding  man or lady of the day.Later that day was to end with the galla night  where the celebrations would  be continued till the morning hours of Saturday. Comrades emerged from all corners of the campus to represent  their various traditions and tribes all over this blessed nation,Kenya that makes up the united Egerton University.

The event was themed  ‘kujivunia utangamano wa  tamaduni’ to mean  ‘different cultures one people’. Various performances crowned the day  ranging from the primary school kids  from Egerton and Kilimo Primary Schools to the University Students. For instance there was a play from the Tripple – E  theatre  that really  moved the crowd with humor and rich massage about the culture week. Each and every tribe also had a chance to celebrate their cultures in a special way by  having their music play as the members take the center stage to dance. Comrades danced themselves lame and the day was all celebrations humor and joy.

The event was attended by high ranked  professors and  doctors  from the various administrative units from within the campus and outside, including town campus. The Vice Chancellor in his absence for the event was fully represented  by the Deputy Vice Chancellor ,DVC  AA, Professor Rose Mwonya who  delivered a speech on behalf of the VC. She echoed the element of having one united Egerton University  composed of the diversified tribes. The event was proudly sponsored  by  KCB with Mobi Cash, Egerton Radio as well as Coca Cola Company.

There were also show- offs  from the Models of  Egerton University comprising of both ladies and gentle men in their smart  fashion  designs. The Galla night summed up the entire culture week with hot disco mix by Dj.Creme upon the spin wheels  from Friday evening  till Saturday dawn.
