University Of Nairobi Distance Learning – UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission will be on the basis of academic qualifications and more specifically will be governed by any one of the following Senate approved regulation:

a)      The common regulations of the bachelor’s degree of the University of Nairobi shall be applicable.

b)      Holder of KCSE certificate with a minimum aggregate of c+ and a minimum of C in both Mathematics and English/Kiswahili or minimum grade of B in bridging course offered in the University of Nairobi with at least a C- in the subject at KCSE.

c)       Holder of KCSE (mean grade C-) plus a Certificate and Diploma from a recognized institution

d)      Holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and a minimum of a credit pass in Mathematics at KCE.

e)      Holder of a degree from a recognized university.

f)       Holder of a diploma from a University of Nairobi Senate recognized institution and a minimum aggregate of C at KCSE or o-level Division III.

g)      Holder of CPA/CPS Part II or equivalent professional qualification with a minimum aggregate of C at KCSE or O-Level Division III

h)      Holder of qualifications deemed to be equivalent to any of the above.

GRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The common regulations for Master’s degree in all faculties shall be applicable.

2.   The following shall be eligible for admission:

(a)  A holder of a Bachelor degree of the University of Nairobi with two subjects studied at secondary level or primary and diploma teacher training colleges.

(b) Holders of a degree of equivalent qualifications obtained from other institutions recognized by Senate of the University of Nairobi as a comparable academic status.

(c)  A holder of any other Bachelor’s degree of the University of Nairobi with at least an Upper Second Class Honours and Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or equivalent qualifications from other Universities recognized by Senate.

(d) Applicants who wish to specialize in Economics of Education or Educational Planning must have studied Economics as a subject in their Bachelor’s degree.
