Kisii University Cultural Week

Kisii University Cultural Week, the event kicked off on Monday with a procession by the university scouts movement. The scouts matched from the Kisii University Main Campus to the Kisii Town CBD to gain attention about the long awaited event in the presence of the Kisii police officers escort.

The ‘Cultural week event’ is a dedicated week to showcase all cultural heritages in Kenya including all the minor and major tribes within the university. Students in their respective tribes and culture, made traditional houses and cooked their traditional foods as a way to participate in this mark-able event.

In the absence of the university VC Prof John Akama, the media faculty dean Prof Kurgat Kibiwot welcomed all who were present and encouraged the student to fully participate in the heritage.

Various competitions were included.

Winners in the dancing and rapping competitions were awarded. In this event, later in the week, Mr and Miss Kisii University will be crowned. It will end on October 16.
