The center comprises of an interdisciplinary team of economists, political scientists, sociologists and more, who strive to alleviate extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. The students will also have an opportunity to showcase their research proposals, obtain guidance on how to analyze data with softwares such as STATA, while enjoying lectures on various topics.

Some of the topics to be discussed will include; the methods and technics on policy evaluation that are used currently in the development economics literature; the role of history, institutions, and geography in development; time series analysis applied to developing countries; international technology transfer and foreign investment; labor markets and business cycles; natural resource curse and human capital; women’s market performance and the relationship between work-family preferences, among others.

Moreover, the students are looking forward to interacting with students from the University of Navarra and hope to share knowledge and acquire an understanding of the Spanish culture.
