Strathmore University Handball Team, Strathmore University men’s handball team continued their winning spree after thrashing Multimedia University 36-17 in the ongoing league over the weekend at Nyayo Stadium Court.

Strathmore fought hard to win against Kenyatta University 27-26 in another fixture that was played in the same venue. Strathmore’s coach Mr. Peter Mwathi paraded Sheldon Sayalel, David Gathuku, Collins Inguta and Ken Ndung’u.

Strathmore who had earlier beaten Multimedia University in the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) games continued with their impressive run to register another win.

The Peter Mwathi coached side was in top gear picking points quick thanks to Okeyana’s fast break points that propelled the team to lead 7-2.

Multimedia tried to counter with Heza Onono picking out Moses Wandera for quick passes to score three goals to make it 8-17 before halftime, but the chase was not good enough to match Mwathi’s side efforts.

In the 2nd half, a combination of Sayalel, Okeyana and Ingutia in the front court was a pain in the Multimedia’s neck as the trio dislodged their opponents’ defense widening the gap by 10 points.

“My boys are in good form, we have played three matches with two wins and one loss. Our target is to keep the winning record before we break for the December holidays. Last year we finished fourth this year we are ready to go for the podium spot.” said Mwathi.

In the earlier matches that were played in the same venue, Technical University Of Kenya (TUK) beat Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) 36-23, while Aquinas High School were thrashed by Nyeri 15-28.

In the women’s category, Strathmore University triumphed over Technical University of Kenya 17-14.
